ChemE Founders Fund

The Founder Fund is a ChemE Department top priority, dedicated to supporting mostly foreign graduate students with chemical engineering undergraduate degrees who have served the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often through missionary work. These students commonly need to take some upper-division undergraduate courses to strengthen their preparation, after which they are able to succeed in our graduate program.

The Founder Fund provides stipends while taking the undergraduate courses, enabling students from diverse backgrounds to attend BYU and transform their lives. Many of these students return to their communities to make a significant impact.

Our faculty personally contributed enough to the Founder Fund to meet BYU’s threshold for official recognition. $2-3 million in this fund would support 4-5 students annually through the fund’s interest.

Your support can make a difference! Hear their inspiring stories and join us in this life-changing endeavor.
