Trevan MacArthur was born and raised in Provo, UT (just east of BYU campus), and graduated with B.S. from BYU Chemical Engineering in 1986, and M.S. from Cornell in 1987.

After graduation, he worked for Exxon Chemicals, ExxonMobil, Arco, Nova Chemicals, Chusei Inc., and now at Mersen Corporation. His career has always been in chemical engineering technology and manufacturing.

Trevan is enthusiastic about mentoring BYU students as an adjunct ChemE professor, which is matched by his extensive industrial experience in both technical and management roles. Currently serving as the Process Systems Manager at Mersen USA ACE, Trevan has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and professional development. His impressive career spans over 35 years, including significant contributions at ExxonMobil, where he taught and mentored young engineers globally. Trevan's dedication to sharing his knowledge and fostering the next generation of engineers makes him a deserving awardee for our Honored Alumni Award 2024.
