Scholarships
Deadline
Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering. General scholarships are available based on academic merit and financial need. Leadership and Service Scholarships will also be awarded. The application deadline is April 1st for the following fall and winter semesters.
Undergraduate Scholarship for Continuing Students
Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Scholarships at Brigham Young University will be awarded as follows:
- General Scholarship recipients will receive partial tuition (or supplementation of other tuition scholarships) based on academic merit and financial need.
- Leadership/Service recipients will be awarded for Exceptional Leadership or Service to the community, university, college, department, or organization (e.g. AIChE, Tau Beta Pi, SWE, SPE, ETSC, GEO, etc.)
- APCO Scholarship recipients based on financial need, a secondary preference may be given to students with an interest in process control. Further preference may be given to students in their sophomore or junior year in the Chemical Engineering program.

Dr. L. Douglas and Marian Bird Smoot Scholarship
Dr. L. Douglas and Marian Bird Smoot Scholarships are also available for students pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering who are in their first year since returning for a Church mission. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Please fill out a separate application form available in the Chemical Engineering Department office.

Research Work
While not a scholarship or grant, a research project can be a stimulating and educational way to finance schooling. Many of the chemical engineering faculty have research funding available for interested students. Application is made by personal discussion with appropriate faculty. Pay scales vary depending upon class and experience.
